Dear friends, kickboxing fans,

I congratulate you on being interested in such an attractive field of sports as kickboxing.

Ever since it was founded in 1995, Estonian Kickboxing Federation established its goal to make this sports, which has already found many admirers all over the world, more popular in Estonia. Kickboxing forms one of the best displays among different types of martial arts and sports in all. It is important to mention that our Federation has been the member of the Estonian Olympic Committee ever since it was founded.

During these years Estonia has brought home many medals from international championships: our kickboxing athletes have won 10 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze medals from World and European Championships both for grown-ups and juniors. Dmitri Vorobjov who became the world champion in 2003 has now become a well-known trainer.

15 Estonian kickboxing clubs have joined into Estonian Kickboxing Federation and these clubs consist of 1500 active sportsmen. Every year Tallinn holds an international tournament called EstOpen that is also part of the WAKO program. That has also helped us a lot in making the sports more popular, attracting new followers as well as supporters.

Young people, you are most welcome to join kickboxing – sports that is both playful and more and more popular all over the world!
Toomas Vitsut,
President of the Estonian Kickboxing Federation
Chairman of Tallinn City Council
